Working Conversations Episode 99:
Where Smart Appliances are Headed in the Next 5 Years
Have you ever imagined controlling your home appliances from your phone? Maybe you do already. The world of smart appliances is growing rapidly, and it’s transforming the way we interact with our homes.
In the years ahead, connected homes will only become more common.
From refrigerators that can automatically order groceries to thermostats that can detect your presence and adjust the temperature accordingly to ovens that can preheat at a set time, smart appliances are becoming an integral part of our daily lives.
In recent years, smart appliances have become increasingly popular among consumers, thanks to their ability to connect to the internet and provide a range of advanced features and functionalities.
These appliances are designed to offer greater convenience, energy efficiency, and automation, making them a must-have for any modern home. But a lot of consumers who are buying these smart appliances are not letting them be smart.
In this episode, I take a closer look at the future of smart appliances and where they are headed in the next five years.Â
I begin by exploring the Internet of Things (IoT) and the concept of smart appliances. I then discuss the benefits and downsides of these appliances, including concerns around privacy and practicality.
With the latest research on how consumers are using these features, I predict that within the next five years there will be massive improvements in the consumer benefits in the Internet of Things generally and with smart appliances specifically.
If you’re considering buying smart appliances or are curious about the future of IoT, this episode is for you.Â
