Working Conversations Episode 67:
6 Ways to Manage Distractions
If you would ask me what one thing we have in common regardless of what we do in life, I’ll probably answer “distractions”.
They are everywhere. We all have them. No one is exempt.
As an entrepreneur, a keynote speaker, a trainer, a coach, an author, a podcaster, a wife, a mom of three kids, and a friend, I often get distractions.
And who says it’s not seasonal? It’s summer here in the northern hemisphere and many people are experiencing extra distractions in their workday. From beautiful summer weather that calls to you, to kids home from school for the summer, to projects around the house, it is hard for many to stay focused on their work, including me.
However, indulging too much in distractions might cause you to miss an important task that can help you move forward. Or worse, you might be demoted or fired because of unmet deliverables.
I want to prevent that from happening to you by giving you simple strategies to keep you focused and goal-oriented. Trust me; I’ve got your back.
In this episode, I talk about the distractions that I struggle with during the summer season, and as promised, I dive into six strategies for managing my workload inside of a distracted mind.
